Gary Graham, 73-year-old Star Trek actor, has passed away

Gary Graham passed away

Actor Gary Graham has sadly passed away suddenly. His wife of 25 years, Becky Graham, informed The Hollywood Reporter that her late husband died of heart arrest at a hospital in Spokane, Washington.

The actor was most recognized for his role as Solvan, the Vulcan envoy to Earth, in the television series Star Trek: Enterprise, where he appeared in 12 episodes from 2001 to 2005. He also appears in Star Trek: Voyager, which is part of the franchise.

He was also most remembered for his role in the short-lived sci-fi procedural Alien Nation, based on the 1988 film of the same name, which aired for one season from 1989 to 1990. He portrayed Detective Matthew Sikes, a hesitant LAPD cop who joins forces with an extraterrestrial recruit (Eric Pierpoint) in an alternate future.

The actors reprised their roles in the television films Alien Nation: Dark Horizon (1994), Alien Nation: Body and Soul (1995), Alien Nation: Millennium (1996), Alien Nation: The Enemy Within (1996), and Alien Nation: The Udara Legacy (1997).

Graham made his television debut in the mid-1970s, followed by his film debut in the 1979 neo-noir movie Hardcore, starring George C. Scott. He also appeared in Starsky and Hutch, The Incredible Hulk, CHiPs, The Dukes of Hazzard, Remington Steele, Moonlighting, and Hunter before making his Alien Nation debut.

Susan Lavelle, the actor’s first ex-wife and co-star on Alien Nation, paid him a heartfelt homage on Facebook. The two have a daughter called Haylee together.

“It is with terrible grief that I inform you that Gary Graham, my ex-husband, wonderful actor, and father of our lovely only child together, [Haylee] Graham, died tonight. We are really saddened, particularly our daughter Haylee.” His wife, Becky, was by his side.

“I met Gary when I was just 20 years old, and he was one half of the star combo on the television series Alien Nation. However, he had already appeared in films such as All the Right Moves with Tom Cruise. Of course, Gary has a lot more credits.”

Susan concluded: “This was unexpected, so please pray for our daughter as she works through this thing called sorrow. Fly high into the skies, Gar! Thank you for our journey, and especially for the talents you gave me in acting, my love of horses, and, most significantly, our daughter.”
