Ashley Park Updates Health Status After Septic Shock Hospitalization

Ashley Park updates health after septic shock hospitalization

Ashley Park has been released from the hospital and has returned to Paris to complete her recovery from a major medical issue.

The Emily in Paris actor, Ashley Park, provided updates on her health on January 28, more than a week after revealing that she had been hospitalized with tonsillitis that had “spiraled into critical septic shock.”

Park stated in an Instagram post, “I’m extremely moved and grateful for your wonderful messages of support and comfort, your personal tales of sepsis and hospitalization, and to everyone who has reached out with love. Every message has helped me make a rapid and hopeful recovery.”

The 32-year-old went on to say, “I’m sorry for the delay in responses, just wanted to update that I was medically cleared to fly after responding to treatments, and am now recovering and resting in Paris where I was greeted with this incredible warm welcome from loved ones and my Emily In Paris fam.”

Park’s post included photos of several bouquets of flowers inside a room, a semi-completed jigsaw puzzle, an oil pastel sketch pad lying next to a bowl of oatmeal with fruit, a shot of her leg with several acupuncture needles, and an image of herself and costar Lily Collins hugging while sitting on a couch.

“Thank you to @netflix and @emilyinparis for their genuine kindness and gracious patience as I wait to be medically cleared to work,” Park wrote in an Instagram post. “I couldn’t be more excited to join everyone on set for Season 4.” I guarantee I’m breathing through it all and taking as much care of myself as possible to be back in fighting form. In the meanwhile, thanks for the sofa hugs, @lilyjcollins;)”

Collins, who portrays the titular character in Emily in Paris, said, “I couldn’t adore you more, and hugging you made me feel at home. You’re an incredible light sister,” Park’s boyfriend Paul Forman, who portrayed Nicolas de Leon on the show’s current third season, responded with two kiss face emojis.

Park shared her health crisis on Instagram on January 19, accompanied with a photo of herself laying on a hospital bed with a breathing tube and being kissed on the forehead by Paul, marking the first time the two had acknowledged their relationship.

“While on holiday in December into New Years, what started as tonsillitis spiraled into critical septic shock, which infected and affected several of my organs,” she said in a blog post. “I am grateful that my health has improved despite what we had initially been told.”

Park said, “I’m most grateful to @peforman for standing unconditionally at my side throughout this. You eased my concerns and accompanied me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the intensive care unit, terrifying emergency rooms, endless scans, tests, and injections, awful agony, and so much uncertainty, all while we were alone on the other side of the world, far from those we knew. I adore you, Paul. More than I could possibly express.”

On his Instagram, the actor published photographs of the two together, including a close-up of them holding hands near her hospital bed, with the caption, “By your side, no matter what @ashleyparklady.”
