INGREDIENTS
For the dough
¼ cup + 2 tablespoon warm water
¼ cup + 2 tablespoon warm milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon dry yeast
⅛ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon oil
To garnish
Honey
¼ cup Crushed pistachios
¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder add more if you like cinnamon
To fry the loukoumades
Cooking oil
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a large bowl, mix water, milk, sugar, and yeast. Stir in oil, then add flour and salt, mixing until smooth. Cover and let the dough rise for an hour.
2. Heat oil for frying. Grease a spoon with oil, dip your hand in the dough, and squeeze small portions between your thumb and index finger, dropping them into the hot oil. Fry until golden, turning them to cook evenly. Drain in a strainer.
3. Sprinkle the loukoumades with cinnamon and drizzle with honey. Flip to coat, then garnish with more honey and crushed pistachios before serving.
