Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 dash salt
Directions
- In small bowl, combine unsweetened cocoa, salt and 1/4 cup of the sugar.
- In large bowl, with an electric beater, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
- Beat in remaining 1/4 cup of sugar, 1/2 a tablespoon at a time, until meringue is glossy and stiff peaks form.
- Fold in cocoa and vanilla.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonful 1" apart on baking tray and bake until done.
- Dust with powdered sugar.
