  • 1 cup black beans
  • 2 cups low sodium tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion

Directions

  • Sauté onions and garlic in oil until onions turn clear, about 5 minutes.
  • Carefully add tomato sauce and black beans and reduce the heat to medium-low.
  • Add spices and stir to combine well.
  • Cover and allow to simmer at least 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
