One year after Nick Carter’s brother Aaron Carter drowned in his bathtub, Nick Carter’s sister Bobbie Jean Carter was discovered motionless in her bathroom.
The 41-year-old sister of Nick Carter and the late Aaron Carter was discovered comatose in a toilet on December 23, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders were dispatched to her Tampa, Fla., house in the morning and located her in the bathtub, according to police. Bobbie Jean was brought to the hospital and tragically died.
She was arrested in June on suspicion of having a prohibited narcotic, and the sheriff’s office stated she was on probation at the time of her death. According to TMZ, no narcotics or drug paraphernalia were discovered in her bathroom or bedroom, and her roommates told authorities that she hadn’t used narcotics since she was released from prison.
There were no evidence of foul play, according to reports, but her cause of death has not been revealed.
Bobbie Jean’s mother, Jane Carter, confirmed her death to TMZ on December 23, saying, “I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean, and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time.”
Her daughter Leslie Carter died of an overdose in 2012, at the age of 25, and her son Aaron, at the age of 34, was discovered dead in his bathtub in November 2022. His death was later revealed to be the result of drowning as well as the effects of difluoroethane (compressed gas) and alprazolam (generic Xanax). It was determined to be an accident.
Aaron’s team spoke out in the aftermath of Bobbie Jean’s death, which occurred more than a year after Aaron’s own death, to pay honor to the late Carter sister.
“This year has definitely been one with such loss and tragedy,” his team said in a statement. “May you be filled with love and comfort as you support fans and friends during this difficult time.” You are not alone yourself. We know Aaron is reunited with his sisters in paradise. “May they find peace.”
Angel Carter, Aaron’s fraternal twin, also sent a heartfelt comment about Bobbie Jean’s death.
“You had a great sense of humor, and a lively spirit,” the 36-year-old said on Instagram on December 24. “Growing up, I was your baby, and you were my best friend.”
“Life wasn’t fair to you, that I know,” Angel continued. “I understand why, Leslie, Aaron, you ended yourself in the situation you did. I feel your sadness from our youth, and I’m sorry you didn’t have a chance at a better life.”
