“Severe Stroke” Affects 24-Year-Old Cori Broadus, Daughter of Snoop Dogg

Cori Broadus she had suffered a "severe stroke."

Cori Broadus, the daughter of rapper Snoop Dogg and his wife Shante Broadus, told her Instagram followers on Thursday that she had suffered a “severe stroke.”

After the health scare, the 24-year-old shared an Instagram Story from a hospital bed, writing, “I had a severe stroke this a.m.???????? I started breaking down crying when they told me.”

Shortly later, she shared another Instagram Story with the caption, “Like, I’m only 24, what did I do in my past to deserve all of this.”

The Choc Factory CEO has yet to provide any more information regarding what caused the stroke or how her recuperation is doing.
Cori has previously spoken openly about her health difficulties. She was diagnosed with lupus when she was six years old, according to PEOPLE. According to the Mayo Clinic, lupus is an autoimmune illness in which your body’s immune system attacks its own tissues and organs, causing inflammation in your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs.

Lupus patients will suffer “flares,” which means that their symptoms (fever, exhaustion, joint pain and swelling, a butterfly-shaped rash on the face, chest discomfort, disorientation, skin lesions, etc.) will intensify for a period before improving or disappearing altogether, according to the Mayo Clinic.

In an Instagram post from May 2021, Cori spoke out about her mental health challenges, including a suicide attempt, as well as the obstacles she had growing up with lupus. “I’ve always felt sad. I have always been depressed. “I feel like I’ve been through a lot,” she explained. “I’ve been ill; I’m unwell. That’s a lot. Your body hurts, you’re in pain, and you’re so young that you’re wondering, ‘What is going on with me? “What’s going on?”

In September 2023, Cori told PEOPLE that she had been “good, better than I’ve ever been.” She told the outlet that she was pursuing a natural approach to her health since she had spent her entire life on drugs that made her “feel like I was going insane.”

Cori revealed that she had not taken any of her medications in five months. “I’m doing everything natural, including herbs, sea moss, and teas. “I started working out and drinking plenty of water,” she explained. “So now I think my body’s like, OK, this is the new program and she’s getting used to it.”

“I’ve been taking medications since I was six years old, and I’ve always relied on them. So I wanted more for myself,” she explained. “I wanted to make a change because it had become too much. I’m only 24 years old and take ten to twelve medicines every day. So I kind just went cold turkey.”

Cori stated that the lifestyle adjustments made her feel better. “My body isn’t aching. One of the most important things to consider when you have lupus. “You have aching joints and arthritis,” she told PEOPLE. “And now I’m like, damn, I’m not complaining about my knees, my feet, my hands, my back.”
