Shannen Doherty Reveals That Her Cancer Has Spread To Her Bones

Shannen Doherty

Shannen Doherty, who was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2019, said that the disease has spread to her bones: “I’m not done with living.” “I’m not done loving.”

Shannen Doherty is determined to move on despite her heartbreaking health struggle.

More than five months after the Beverly Hills, 90210 star revealed that her cancer had progressed to her brain, the 52-year-old is now revealing that it has spread to her bones.

“I don’t want to die,” she told People in a Nov. 29 piece. “I’m not done living.” I’m not done loving yet. I’m not finished creating yet. I’m not done hoping to change things for the better. “I’m just not—I’m not finished.”

Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and was declared cancer-free two years later. However, in February 2020, the Charmed alum revealed that her illness had returned the previous year and was now stage 4.

Her condition, as Doherty indicated, has clearly had an influence on her attitude on life.

“When you wonder, ‘Why me? ‘Why did I develop cancer?’ and then “Why did my cancer come back?” “Why am I in stage 4?” she wondered, “which leads you to look for a larger purpose in life.”

Earlier last year, the Rendering star came out about having to undergo brain tumor surgery, providing a peek of her experience on social media.

“It was definitely one of the scariest things,” she said. “I’ve ever been through in my entire life.”

Having said that, Doherty is continually driven by her desire to return to work despite her fight and remains devoted, due to the support of family and friends.

“My greatest memory is yet to come,” she said. “I pray. I thank God every morning and every night, praying for the things that are important to me without asking for too much. It brings me closer to a higher power and spirituality. “My faith is my anthem.”

As Doherty pointed out, she is savoring every minute.

“I know it sounds cheesy and crazy, but you’re just more aware of everything, and you feel so blessed,” she said of her diagnosis. “We’re the people who want to work the most, because we’re just so grateful for every second, every hour, every day we get to be here.”
