Olivia Flowers of Southern Charm Discusses Her “Difficult” Holidays Following Brother’s Death

Nearly a year after her brother Conner died unexpectedly, Olivia Flowers explained how she and her parents are surviving as they face their first Christmas without him.

Olivia Flowers’ family will have a unique holiday season this year.

Ten months after her brother Conner died unexpectedly at the age of 32, Olivia discussed how she and her parents are coping with the grief ahead of their first Christmas without him.

“Holidays are definitely difficult,” Olivia told E! News Chief Correspondent Keltie Knight exclusively on Nov. 28 at the DIRECTV Celebrates Christmas at Kathy’s event. “We recently got back from Thanksgiving, which was a whole other experience. There were only four of us before, and now there are only three. But since we’re a close-knit family, we’re pushing through and holding on tight. So we’ll make it through.”

Despite Conner’s absence, Olivia will continue to participate in their Christmas traditions.

“My favorite part is just family time and movies, of course,” the 31-year-old explained. “Home Alone is my fave. I’m simply looking forward to being in Texas, where I am right now, and spending time with my family.”

Olivia revealed earlier this month that her sibling died of an accidental fentanyl overdose, years after being prescribed painkillers to alleviate severe pain from his protracted struggle with Lyme disease.

“He started relying on this prescription medicine to feel normal at a very young age,” the Bravolebrity told People in an interview published Nov. 1. “And we as a family started to see this toll it took on his body.”

Conner had just sought treatment at a health clinic, according to Olivia, and was “completely clean.”

“He was in the best shape I’d seen him in in years,” she said. “He had big goals he wanted to achieve.” And he was discussing his plans to go to Dallas, Texas, where he already had work offers.”

Conner, on the other hand, had a deadly relapse.

“To hear he died of a fentanyl overdose, there’s immediately going to be this assumption that he was partying,” she went on to say. “Conner wasn’t like that at all. This was his only means of survival.”
