Details on the Weight Loss Journey of Scheana Shay

Scheana Shay weight loss journey

Scheana Shay, one of the few original cast members, is everyone’s focus for Vanderpump Rules season 11 on January 30. Scheana, a VPR staple, was vocal when Tom Sandoval cheated on Ariana Madix with castmate Raquel Leviss last season.

Scheana’s health suffered from the stress. The 38-year-old stated on her podcast, Scheananigans, that she dropped “unhealthy” weight during the “Scandoval” drama in August 2023.

Scheana Shay has discussed her weight before. Since having her 2-year-old daughter Summer, she avoided the scale to avoid weighing herself, she said on the show. “I didn’t want to get fixated on the number,” she told dietitian Lauren Hubert on her podcast.

She’s also discussed her 20s eating issue. Scheana defended herself on the Vanderpump Rules season 5 reunion when Stassi Schroeder called her anorexic. “I was doing any quick fix to get the weight off,” she told her castmates in 2017.

Scheana has been open about her diet and weight throughout her reality TV career. The whole weight loss story of Scheana Shay is revealed.

Vanderpump Rules actress told Life & Style magazine in 2019 that she’s been working with trainer-nutritionist Seth Browning on a carb-cycling strategy that alternates carb-eating days with carb-free days.

“When we first started I was doing three days of no carbs and one day of healthy carbs—and that helped kick my body into shape,” stated. Her carb-restricted supper of choice? “Salmon with lots of grilled vegetables.”

The same year, Scheana told US Weekly that too many football game day snacks led her to this diet, saying, “My stomach’s getting flatter.”

While on the carb cycling diet, she told US Weekly that she trained hard four to five days a week, alternating between full-body and leg, butt, and core workouts.

Scheana said she had a “insane” few months, causing stress and worry, after Scandoval. “A lot has been going on that has affected my appetite and working out habits recently and I’ve lost more weight,” she added.

Additionally, Scheana told PEOPLE on January 19 at the Vanderpump Rules season 11 red carpet premiere that she was diagnosed with OCD after experiencing “intrusive thoughts,” anxiety, and OCD after giving birth to her daughter.

“I feel like postpartum OCD isn’t talked about, especially as a mom,” she added. “Misdiagnosed. Many don’t know what’s wrong. When I realized this, I was like, “Oh my God.” Now it makes sense.”

Scheana, who had a brain scan after her diagnosis, takes a brain and power supplement pack that is “really helping my intrusive thoughts and just overall how I’m feeling.” She informed the outlet that she is “in a good place.”

Scheana added on the show that she felt it was “time to up the food and the weights” after seeing an uncomfortably low figure on the scale. Scheana said she wouldn’t weigh less than 100 pounds.

“I don’t want to be in the 1-0s because I don’t think this is a healthy weight for me,” she added. “Stress and anxiety affect your body.”

“People have asked me if I’m on that, but I’m not. Not doing it. Not for me,” Scheana remarked on the program. My friends—I won’t name names—have joked, ‘Well, after my next baby I’ll simply get on Ozempic.’ “I don’t think that is what it’s there for?”

Scheana announced her partnership with Hydroxycut on Instagram in March 2023. In a matching exercise gear, she posed with the brand’s goods.

Scheana told PEOPLE in February 2023, “I haven’t heard of it,” adding, “I would stick with Hydroxycut.”

“Our secret is walking around your house,” said Brock Davies, her husband. Go outdoors and stroll. Watch what you eat and get outside to reduce weight.
