Halle Berry Drops Bombshell on Menopause

Halle Berry on Menopause

Over the weekend, Halle Berry made some shocking admissions regarding the menopause, leaving her followers stunned.

The actress, Halle Berry, who is on a quest to de-stigmatize menopause and get people talking about it, released three powerful videos to her Instagram account, which soon received over a million views and hundreds of comments, with many expressing surprise and astonishment at what they were hearing.

In the videos, Halle sat down for a candid conversation with US Senator Cory Booker, the first of which she captioned “Menopause… Let us discuss it! Nine out of ten women were never informed about menopause. That is why @corybooker and I discussed the significance of discussing women’s pre-menopausal and menopausal experiences so that we might find more comfort in the parallels of women’s unavoidable unknown.”

“There’s a stigma around it, and that’s why I’ve gotten involved, to try and de-stigmatize it,” Halle said when Corey pointed out that many women go through menopause alone and without a support group since it’s just not discussed.

The 57-year-old actress revealed that when she brought up the subject of menopause, her pals delighted, stating that “they were starving to talk with someone about it and not feel ashamed.” And they were desperate to tell their stories. And we found we were experiencing many of the same things.”

Elsewhere During the debate, Halle disclosed that “only 13% of doctors have gone through the menopause.” What is the solution? “Beginning to fix it starts with more education and research so that more doctors can become experts on the menopausal body!”

Another startling discovery was that “women were not even used in clinical studies until 1993.” There were just guys. So how can we possible grasp what we require when we were not even a part of the study?”

She went on to say, “Women in their 30s if they knew how to arrive to their menopausal and perimenopausal years in a better way, they would.”She said, “If menopause was a man’s health issue, we would have it way more figured out by now.” Menopause, on the other hand, is much more than just a female health condition.

“Every year, 1.8 billion dollars are lost because women must take time off work.” That is a concern for everyone. “This isn’t just a women’s health issue,” she explained.

The comment area was inundated with both startled and encouraging remarks: “Exactly Halle, it’s a human issue and so so important,” one admirer remarked. As OBGYNs, we don’t get adequate menopausal training in residency and must either ignore it or become proactive during our working years to learn about it. I’m going with the latter, but I still have a lot to learn. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!”
