Jazz Jennings’ Weight Loss Story Unveiled

binge-eating disorder

Jazz Jennings, a famous YouTuber and activist, has openly discussed her binge-eating disorder and desire to reduce weight. The 23-year-old is currently enjoying a weight-loss milestone: she has shed 70 pounds.

Jazz announced the news with an Instagram post including a photo of herself posing on the beach in a swimming costume.

“Feeling happier and healthier than I’ve been in years,” she added in the post. “I still have a ways to go, but I’m so proud to finally be taking the necessary steps toward bettering my mind, body, and spirit????????????.”

Jazz originally expressed interest in starting her health and weight loss journey in 2021.

Jazz uploaded two side-by-side images of herself on Instagram in June 2021, comparing her weight gain before and after, along with a statement that indicated how she was feeling emotionally at the time.

“I’m posting this photo because it’s time for me to address my weight gain and hold myself accountable,” she stated in the post. “I’m ready to alter my ways; I’ve been saying I’m ready to turn a new leaf, but I’m running out of trees. I’m ready to take the initiative and make great changes in my health and physique.

She finished with this note: “Love you all, and thanks for understanding the battle I’m fighting to win❤️❤️❤️.”

Jazz has binge-eating disorder, which she also discussed in her 2021 article.

“As many of you have noticed, over the past few years, I have gained a substantial amount of weight,” she said in an email. “I suffer from binge-eating disorder, a disease in which I’m not only addicted to food, but I eat it in large quantities.”

Jazz also stated that bingeing, along with an increased appetite from some of the prescriptions she takes, caused her to gain about 100 pounds in less than two years.

While Jazz hasn’t revealed her specific food and fitness program in the intervening years, she has posted multiple Instagram posts illustrating some of the efforts she’s done to live a healthy lifestyle, which includes working out and participating in a variety of sports.

In January 2024, she posted a video of herself running beside her father, who is a total hype guy. “There she is…the 2024 Jazz,” he said as they ran together.
