Kelly Clarkson recently revealed her exercises and health methods to keep in shape after moving to New York City last year.
The Grammy winner recently revealed details about her physique makeover, stating that coming to New York City last autumn aided her health and fitness quest.
“Walking in the city is quite the workout,” Kelly told People in a January 3 interview. “Right now, I’m really into infrared saunas.” And I simply had a cold dip since everyone exhausted me.”
Exercising and experimenting with new wellness practices aren’t the only adjustments the 41-year-old has made to his lifestyle.
“I eat a healthy mix,” Kelly said of her eating habits. “I lost weight because I listened to my doctor—I didn’t for a couple of years.” And I’m pretty excellent at it 90% of the time since a protein diet is healthy for me anyhow.”
It was her way of saying, “I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat—sorry, vegetarians in the world!”
Kelly moved her family, including her daughter River Rose, 9, and son Remington Alexander, 7, whom she shares with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, to New York City last year.
“I was very unhappy in L.A, and had been for several years,” she said. “I needed a fresh start.”
The “Breakaway” singer shared her plans to relocate across the nation with NBC, the network that broadcasts her show.
“‘I’m not trying to sound ungrateful, but I just can’t stay here anymore for my mental health; for myself and my kids,'” Kelly recalled addressing network officials. “They weren’t doing any better either. I’d simply been turning up and smiling and doing what I was expected to do for the last five years, but you can only compartmentalize for so long before you crack.”
It turns out that being open to change has its advantages.
“To be able to come into season five feeling good and knowing my kids feel good—and the dust has settled,” she said, adding, “Season five is my first season to actually enjoy every minute of it.”
