Start your day with a delicious twist with a Keto Cream Cheese Bagel! This low-carb bagel is perfectly chewy and topped with a generous layer of creamy, velvety cheese. Perfect for breakfast or a mid-day snack, each bite is a delightful mix of classic bagel goodness without the carbs.
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp chives chopped
1/2 tbs basil finely chopped
1 heirloom tomato sliced
1 garlic bulb
250 g cream cheese 9oz
4 bagels
olive oil
salt + pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 160c/320f. Slice the garlic bulb’s top 2–3 cm down with a sharp knife to reveal the raw cloves. Put the garlic bulb in the center of an oven-proof dish, drizzle with olive oil, and salt & pepper. Bake 1 hour.
2. Allow garlic to cool a little before handling. Remove the skin from roasted garlic bulbs using your fingers. Throw roasted garlic, cream cheese, chives, basil, and a touch of salt and pepper in a bowl. Mash with a fork or spoon until smooth.
3. Cut bagels in half and grease the inside. Fry olive oil-side down in a pot on low-medium heat for 5 minutes until brown and crispy.
4. Spread lots of cream cheese on the bottom half of the bagel and top with a tomato slice. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and olive oil on the tomato and top with the other bagel half. Enjoy!
