Mikayla Nogueira, a TikToker, reacted to a claim that she had dropped 30 pounds on Ozempic, despite the fact that she had been suffering from a binge eating disorder.
Mikayla Nogueira is not hiding the fact that she has lost weight.
Over the last six months, the beauty influencer has shed 30 pounds while recovering from a binge eating disorder. However, Mikayla clarified how she transformed her figure when one social media user wrote, “LMAOOO SHES ON OZEMPIC.”
“If you’re on Ozempic or any of those weight loss medications or drugs, that’s fine,” she said in a TikTok video posted on December 27. “I’m not going to judge you for your personal choices.”
However, the 25-year-old will not be taking the injectable type 2 diabetes medicine that other celebrities have been utilizing for weight loss. Instead, she attributes her improvement to making “better food choices and better life choices.”
“When you go through recovery and stop binging, sometimes you lose weight with that,” she said. “To just put in all that work for months to recover for something that has literally nearly taken your life away multiple times, to just be hit with ‘Laughing my ass off, she’s on Ozempic,’ it just like sucks.”
The TikToker expressed her displeasure with the comments, saying that “it really takes away from anyone who really puts in the extreme mental strain to get healthy.”
“People just slap you with the Ozempic thing,” she went on. “I will never compete in the Olympics because I don’t want to jeopardize my recovery.” That is only my own perspective.”
She feels that taking the medicine would be detrimental to her recovery since she needs to create a balanced connection with food, exercise, and body image.
“That is extremely difficult,” she continued. “And Ozempic just would not be the path for me.”
