  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 10 g channa dal
  • 20 g green chilies
  • 2 tsps cumin
  • 2 1/2 tsps paprika
  • 20 g cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric (ground)
  • 2 1/2 dashes salt
  • 30 g olive oil
  • 690 g okra
  • 300 g onions

Directions

  • Heat olive oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and channa dal. Sauté for 10 minutes then add chopped onions, chilies, salt, turmeric powder. Cook until the oil becomes light reddish brown.
  • Add chopped okra and cook without lid for 20 minutes on medium heat.
  • Add paprika and ground cumin. Simmer with lid for 15 minutes.
  • Transfer to a plate and serve with rice.
