Ingredients

  • 2 cups dark red kidney beans
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 3 tbsps chili powder
  • 28 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp red or cayenne pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 tsps beef base
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lb ground turkey

Directions

  • Chop onion.
  • Saute onion and ground turkey in olive oil.
  • Mince garlic. Drain and rinse beans. Add all ingredients to 8 cup or larger slow cooker.
  • Cook 4-5 hours on high or 8-10 hours on low.
  • Note: serve with jalapenos, extra chopped onion, shredded cheese and sour cream.
