WNBA schedule 2024: 12 games you really must watch

WNBA Schedule for 2024

The WNBA gave fans a holiday present on Monday when it published its 240-game 2024 schedule, generating exciting months in anticipation for the league’s 28th season in mid-May.

The regular season begins on May 14 and each side will play 40 games, 20 at home and 20 away. The fourth-annual Commissioner’s Cup title game will be held on June 25, followed by the 20th WNBA All-Star Game on July 20, which will be followed by an Olympic break from July 21 to August 14. The regular season begins on August 15 and concludes on September 19.

How each club will appear remains to be known, as numerous franchises are facing summer questions. Big-name free agents include: Jonquel Jones of the New York Liberty, DeWanna Bonner and Brionna Jones of the Connecticut Sun (the latter recovering from an Achilles injury), Satou Sabally of the Dallas Wings, Elena Delle Donne and Natasha Cloud of the Washington Mystics, Skylar Diggins-Smith of the Phoenix Mercury, Nneka Ogwumike of the Los Angeles Sparks, and Kiah Stokes of the two-time defending champion Las Vegas Aces.

Candace Parker of the Aces may also consider retiring depending on how she feels following a foot injury that kept her out for the whole of 2023.

Breanna Stewart, the 2023 WNBA MVP, is an unrestricted free agent, but the Liberty have said that they would core her, therefore she appears to be returning to Brooklyn for her second season, while Brittney Griner has stated that she will return to Phoenix.

Although rosters are subject to change, these are the 12 must-see games for the 2024 WNBA schedule of the regular season as of now.
