Psoriasis Flare-Up Leaves Kim Kardashian With Painful Red Leg Marks

Kim Kardashian gives updates on her psoriasis flare-up

Kim Kardashian provided an update on her psoriasis journey by posting photographs of severe red marks on her legs following a recent flare-up on social media.

The Kardashians star provided an update on her fight with the chronic immunological disorder by sharing photographs from a recent flare-up on social media.

“Not gonna lie, this is painful,” Kim said in a Jan. 30 Instagram Story. “I’m not sure what my triggers are. I have not altered my diet. “I have tried everything.”

The 43-year-old ended by saying, “Psoriasis sucks.”

Kim has previously spoken candidly about her auto-immune disorder, which began after her first flare-up at the age of 25. In 2019, the American Horror Story: Delicate actor revealed her experience with the auto-immune illness, which she shares with her mother Kris Jenner.

“One night, I woke up to use the restroom and I physically couldn’t pick up my phone,” Kim wrote of a particularly terrible flare-up in an essay published on sister Kourtney Kardashian’s website Poosh. “I thought that was unusual, but perhaps I simply slept on my hands strangely, and I was so weary that I didn’t need to check my phone at that hour anyhow. “I fell right back asleep.”

However, the reality star’s situation deteriorated.

“I woke up that morning and I still couldn’t pick up my phone,” she said. “I was freaking out—I couldn’t even pick up a toothbrush because my hands hurt so much. As the day progressed, I gained more mobility in my hands, but they still pained on the inside—I could feel it in my bones.

Kim’s medical team initially classified the frightening symptoms as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus before settling on psoriatic arthritis, which she explained can be caused by psoriasis.

“It can come and go,” the Skims creator stated. “It’s still painful and scary, but I was happy to have a diagnosis.”

Kim now has the correct diagnosis and can take “proper care” to treat her psoriasis, and she hopes that sharing her experience will give other people going through a similar health journey the courage to get the support they require.

“If you have psoriasis, you can’t let it ruin your life or get the best of you,” she said. “You have to do what you can to make sure you are comfortable but not let it take over.”
