Lee Sun-kyun, a famous Korean actor, died at the age of 48

According to several accounts, Lee Sun-kyun died on Wednesday after being discovered unconscious in a vehicle in central Seoul.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the actor, who acted in the Oscar-winning film Parasite, committed suicide.

Lee was 48 years old when he died, and his family had been looking for him after he left a suicide note, according to the source.

According to Yonhap, Lee was pronounced deceased at the scene. His tragic death occurred during the course of an inquiry into his alleged unlawful drug use.

According to reports, Lee was questioned three times about using marijuana and other narcotics at the house of a hostess working in the Gangnam region.

According to his lawyer, who talked with The Washington Post, he disputed all charges and said he was duped into taking medications.

Lee was most recently questioned by authorities over the weekend, where he was questioned for 19 hours.

The late actor gained to prominence as the Park family patriarch in the film Parasite.

The film created history in 2020 when it won Best Film at the 92nd Annual Academy Awards, being the first non-English language film to do so.

“When all the nominations came out, I expected that director Boon Joon-ho could win, but I never thought we had a chance at Best Picture,” Lee told Hollywoodchicago.com.
