  • 4 large whole tomatoes
  • 4 cups tomato juice
  • 14 basil leaves
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp unpacked sugar

Directions

  • Cut tomatoes into chunks and remove seeds.
  • Cook tomatoes and tomato juice for 30 minutes.
  • Puree half the tomato mixture with the basil leaves.
  • Add to remaining mixture and mix.
  • Add remaining ingredients and cook on low until ready to serve.
