We Asked Dolly Parton What The Best Way to Make Boxed Cake Mix Better

Dolly Parton understands success. Dolly Parton has garnered followers for decades, from her successful musical career to her reputation as one of the friendliest ladies in show industry. Her 2023 album Rockstar and her halftime performance at the Cowboys vs. Commanders game have been the buzz of the town, but her cooking has always been the major topic.

Her skillet cornbread, walnut pie, and cream of vegetable soup are great, but her packaged collaborations with Duncan Hines are too. A new Iron Butterfly Duncan collaboration is coming out soon, fortunately.

“We have chocolate and yellow cake mixes. Our muffin mixes, pancakes, and other goodies were great “Country’s Iron Butterfly told Parade. I enjoy all of them, depending on my mood. We have banana bread and crumb cake, but I’m eager about the buttermilk pancakes.”

Dolly Parton was eager to talk about her new line of boxed cake mixes and the limited-edition Bake Like a Rockstar Baking Collection, which includes some of the new mixes and some really cook keepsakes, but she told us the one secret ingredient she thinks makes any boxed cake better.

“Well, I fill all of that with love,” she said. I suppose every competent cook or experienced cook will add a few things. Maybe it’s nuts but doesn’t call for nuts or bananas.I guess it’s largely cooking. A competent cook can prepare a cake from scratch. Nothing is easier than to grab that box, look at it, and know you’ll make no mistakes.”

Dolly Parton is considering packaged mixes, but soon, fans will expect freezer meals.

“I’m excited too because we just started our new partnership with Conagra,” stated. “We’re gonna go beyond the baking and have other foods that people are gonna be enjoying.”

Dolly, who has long “dreamed of having a frozen food line,” said she wants to offer “really hearty food” to customers. She’s optimistic that the new release will appeal to soulful eaters with “a lot of comfort foods, a lot great foods, a lot fun foods” and things she’s grown up with.
